Bedrock Edition 26.20 arrived on May 5, 2026, and it brought sulfur caves to Bedrock as an experiment. Bedrock 26.30, the Chaos Cubed drop, made them a normal part of the game on June 16, 2026. This Minecraft Bedrock 26.20 seed map shows that generation. Enter your seed to find sulfur caves and every Bedrock structure.
Sulfur Caves on Bedrock
Sulfur caves are a cave biome built from sulfur and cinnabar. They carry dense patches of glow lichen, and sulfur cubes spawn inside. From 26.30, cave spiders spawn there too.
Two features stand out:
- Sulfur pools: greenish water with potent sulfur at the bottom. It gives mobs in the pool Nausea.
- Sulfur springs: piles of sulfur at the surface with a small pool on top. They signal a sulfur cave below. In 26.30, magma blocks and potent sulfur make the pool act like a geyser.
In 26.30, sulfur spike clusters also generate inside the caves.
Experimental in 26.20, Standard in 26.30
In 26.20, sulfur caves need the "Drop 2 of 2026" experimental toggle. Without it, your world generates like 26.10. Version 26.30 removed that toggle and moved the features into normal gameplay.
So check your world settings. If you created the world in 26.20 without the toggle, its explored chunks will not have sulfur caves. New chunks generated in 26.30 or later will.
Bedrock 26.20 also gave creators new tools, such as subsurface builders for biomes. Those do not change vanilla worlds by themselves.
Seeds Across Bedrock and Java
Java 26.2 is the matching Chaos Cubed release. Since 1.18, both editions share terrain and biomes for the same seed. As a result, a sulfur cave under a Java mountain sits under the same Bedrock mountain.
Structures do not line up, though. Bedrock places villages, temples and most other structures with its own rules.
Looking ahead, Bedrock 26.50 adds dappled forests and abandoned camps, so the surface changes again there.
Checking Your Version and Using the Minecraft Bedrock 26.20 Seed Map
Open Settings and look near the bottom of the screen for the version number. Then try these tips:
- Look for sulfur springs on the surface. Dig down near one to reach the cave fast.
- Scan hills and mountains, since sulfur caves often sit inside high ground.
- Keep milk handy for Nausea from potent sulfur pools.
- Note cave coordinates before you mine, then share them with Java friends on 26.2.
Sulfur Cave Seed Template
Bedrock 26.30 also added a Sulfur Cave seed template to the world creation screen. Pick it, and you start in a world chosen to show off the new biome. It is a quick way to see sulfur caves without searching.
For your own seed, the map does the searching for you. Follow these steps:
- Enter your seed and pick the Bedrock version that matches your world.
- Look for hills and mountains near spawn.
- Check for sulfur springs on the surface, which point to caves below.
- Copy the coordinates and travel there in game.
Bedrock 26.30 also made the bedrock floor and ceiling generate in every biome, whatever its surface settings.
FAQ
Are sulfur caves experimental on Bedrock 26.20?
Yes. In 26.20 they need the Drop 2 of 2026 experimental toggle. Bedrock 26.30 made them a standard part of the game.
How do I find a sulfur cave?
Look for sulfur springs on the surface, which mark a sulfur cave below, or check hills and mountains on the map.
What does potent sulfur do?
Potent sulfur at the bottom of sulfur pools gives Nausea to mobs in the pool.
Is the Bedrock sulfur cave in the same place as on Java?
Yes. Bedrock and Java share terrain and biome generation for the same seed, so sulfur caves line up.
