Seed map › Versions › Java 1.21.4

Java Edition 1.21.4, The Garden Awakens, was released on December 3, 2024. It added one of the most striking biomes in the game: the pale garden. This Minecraft 1.21.4 seed map shows your world with the 1.21.4 generator. Type in your seed to find pale gardens, creaking hearts and every other biome and structure near spawn.

The Pale Garden Arrives

The pale garden is a grey variant of the dark forest. Instead of dark oaks, it grows pale oak trees. The grass is washed out, the sky looks smoky and the water turns pale blue. There is no background music, and animals do not spawn there.

Look closer and you will find several new blocks:

  • Pale moss blocks and carpets on the ground
  • Pale hanging moss under the pale oak leaves
  • Eyeblossoms, flowers that open at night and close by day
  • Creaking hearts, hidden inside pale oak trunks

When a creaking heart sits between two pale oak logs, it becomes active. At night, it spawns a creaking, a mob that only moves when you look away. Breaking the heart drops resin clumps.

Structure Loot and Other Changes

Woodland mansion chests can now contain resin clumps. Apart from that, structures did not change. Mansions still could not generate inside pale gardens in this version. That came later, in 1.21.5.

The rest of the world stays as it was in 1.21.3. Trial chambers, villages and strongholds keep their old positions.

Do 1.21.3 and 1.21.5 Seeds Match?

Not quite. The pale garden takes over some land that was dark forest in 1.21.3. So if your seed has a dark forest near spawn, part of it may now be a pale garden. Everything else lines up.

Moving on to 1.21.5, pale gardens grow larger and claim more former dark forest. Mansions can also appear inside them. Therefore, the pale garden you find on this map may look bigger on the 1.21.5 map.

One more note: 1.21.2 and 1.21.3 had pale gardens behind an experimental toggle. If you made a world with that toggle on, its pale gardens came from the experimental version.

Version Check and Minecraft 1.21.4 Seed Map Tips

Read the version on the bottom-left of the title screen, or check your profile in the launcher's Installations tab. Then use these tips:

  • Turn on biome colors and look for grey patches inside or next to dark forests.
  • Visit at night if you want to see creakings and open eyeblossoms.
  • Carry a pickaxe or axe to break creaking hearts. Each one gives resin for resin bricks.
  • Raid a woodland mansion for extra resin clumps.

How to Spot and Use Creaking Hearts

Creaking hearts hide inside pale oak trunks, wrapped by pale oak logs. A heart is active when it sits between two pale oak logs facing the same way. Only active hearts spawn creakings.

Here is what you get from one:

  • Breaking it drops 1 to 3 resin clumps. Fortune raises that.
  • A naturally generated heart also drops 20 to 24 experience.
  • Each time you hit its creaking, the heart places 2 to 3 resin clumps around itself.

Resin crafts into resin bricks, a new building block. So one pale garden can supply a whole build.

FAQ

Where does the pale garden generate?

The pale garden is a variant of the dark forest, so it appears in areas where dark forests would otherwise be. Look for grey patches near dark forests on the map.

What is a creaking heart?

A creaking heart is a block that generates inside pale oak trunks. When active, it spawns a creaking at night. Breaking it drops resin clumps.

Can I find mansions in pale gardens in 1.21.4?

No. Woodland mansions could only generate in pale gardens starting with 1.21.5.

Do animals spawn in the pale garden?

No. Animal mobs do not spawn naturally in the pale garden.
