Seed map › Versions › Java 1.21.5

Java Edition 1.21.5, the Spring to Life drop, was released on March 25, 2025. It filled the world with new plants, fallen trees and animal variants. This Minecraft 1.21.5 seed map shows your world as 1.21.5 builds it. Enter your seed to find pale gardens, birch forests full of wildflowers and deserts covered in dry grass.

New Plants and Features in Spring to Life

Spring to Life added a lot of small decoration to the Overworld. Here is where each new feature generates:

  • Fallen trees in oak, spruce, birch and jungle. They spawn where their standing tree grows, with a few exceptions such as meadows and groves.
  • Wildflowers in birch forests, old growth birch forests and meadows.
  • Leaf litter in forests, dark forests and wooded badlands.
  • Bushes in plains, forests, birch forests, windswept biomes and rivers.
  • Firefly bushes in swamps and near rivers.
  • Cactus flowers on cacti, plus short and tall dry grass, in deserts and badlands.

Biome and Structure Changes

Two larger changes also landed. First, the pale garden now takes up more of the space dark forests used to hold. Second, woodland mansions can now generate in pale gardens.

Animals changed too. Pigs, cows and chickens now come in cold, temperate and warm variants, picked by biome. Sheep colors also depend on the climate: mostly white in temperate areas, black in cold ones and brown in warm ones. Camels now spawn in deserts, and farm animals can spawn in badlands. Desert villages get warm pigs and cows.

Does a 1.21.4 Seed Look the Same?

Mostly. Terrain shape and most biomes stay the same. However, pale gardens spread into land that was dark forest in 1.21.4. On top of that, mansions may now appear where pale gardens sit. So check both maps if your seed has large dark forests.

The next drops leave this layout alone. 1.21.6 through 1.21.11 keep the same biomes and structure positions. If you upgrade an old world, though, only new chunks get fallen trees and wildflowers.

Checking Your Version and Using the Minecraft 1.21.5 Seed Map

To check your version, look at the bottom-left of the title screen or the profile in the launcher's Installations tab. Once you know you are on 1.21.5, try these tips:

  • Hunt for cold and warm animal variants by picking spawn points near snowy or hot biomes.
  • Find a pale garden and check for a woodland mansion inside it.
  • Look for meadows and birch forests if you want wildflowers for decoration.
  • Scout deserts for camels, which now spawn there naturally.

What Fallen Trees Tell You

Fallen trees are more than decoration. They mirror the standing trees around them. A fallen birch log means birch trees nearby, a fallen spruce means spruce, and so on. Some fallen logs carry mushrooms or vines.

There are a few exceptions. Fallen trees skip meadows, bamboo jungles, rivers and groves. Flower forests get fallen birch logs but not fallen oak.

Because they spawn across most wooded biomes, fallen logs give you quick early wood without cutting down a full tree. That is handy on your first night.

FAQ

What did Minecraft 1.21.5 add to world generation?

Fallen trees, bushes, firefly bushes, wildflowers, leaf litter, cactus flowers and dry grass, plus bigger pale gardens and mansions that can generate in them.

Where do wildflowers generate?

Wildflowers generate in birch forests, old growth birch forests and meadows.

Can woodland mansions spawn in pale gardens?

Yes, starting with 1.21.5. Before that, mansions did not generate in pale gardens.

Why does my map show more pale garden than in 1.21.4?

In 1.21.5 the pale garden takes up more of the area that used to be dark forest, so the biome map changes in those spots.

Where do cold and warm pigs spawn?

Pig, cow and chicken variants are picked by the biome they spawn in. Cold biomes give cold variants and warm biomes give warm variants.
