The reward is simple: you get to the End early. A close stronghold makes these plans realistic:

• Gather blaze rods and ender pearls first, since you need them for eyes of ender.
• Throw an eye and follow the line to find the stronghold direction.
• Dig down where the eye sinks into the ground.

On 1.21, the wind charge and mace can make a vertical dive safer or faster, while a breeze rod from a trial chamber lets you craft more wind charges. Do not rely on that for an escape from the End, though, as the dragon fight is still the same battle. Bring beds, blocks, a bow, a water bucket and food.

Heading through old growth pine taiga

Giant spruce and podzol cover this spawn biome, with mossy cobblestone boulders and sweet berry bushes scattered in the shade. Movement is slower than on open plains because the trees block straight lines.

Make the trip easy:
