The warped forest is a teal, alien Nether forest of warped fungi, twisting vines and nether sprouts. It is widely seen as the safest Nether biome, since only endermen and striders spawn there. This warped forest finder reads your seed and marks the nearest forests with a biome icon on the map above. The map switches to the Nether automatically.
Where warped forests generate
Warped forests are one of the five Nether biomes. They form patches between nether wastes, crimson forests, soul sand valleys and basalt deltas.
The air is filled with a blue-green fog and drifting particles. Because of that, the biome feels calm compared to the rest of the Nether.
What you find in a warped forest
The ground is warped nylium, a blue-green form of netherrack. Huge warped fungi tower over it, built from warped stems, warped wart blocks and shroomlights.
- Plants: warped fungus, warped roots, nether sprouts and twisting vines.
- Mobs: endermen and striders only.
- Structures: fortresses, bastion remnants and ruined portals.
Ghasts, piglins and hoglins do not spawn here. That makes the warped forest a popular base site.
The forest floor is often covered with warped roots and nether sprouts. Twisting vines grow upward from the nylium in long strands. Meanwhile, the huge fungi spread wide caps of warped wart blocks overhead. Shroomlights hang among those caps and glow brightly, so the forest is easier to navigate than most of the Nether.
How to find a warped forest in your world
In game, look for blue-green fog and teal canopies. Endermen in the Nether are also a strong hint.
Or let the map find it. Enter your seed and select your edition. The map jumps into the Nether and flies to the nearest warped forest, outlined for you. The list on the left shows further options. Click any one to center it.
Then teleport in the Nether with /execute in minecraft:the_nether run tp @s X 100 Z in Java. Check for solid ground before dropping.
Warped forest tips
Endermen spawn often, which makes this a great spot for collecting ender pearls. Wear a carved pumpkin or avoid eye contact if you prefer peace.
Warped fungus is very useful. Put it on a fishing rod to steer a strider across lava. Hoglins also avoid warped fungus. Meanwhile, twisting vines grow upward, so you can climb them out of tight spots.
Building a base in a warped forest
Because hostile spawns are so limited, a warped forest is a great place for a Nether base. Endermen leave you alone if you do not look at them, and striders stay in the lava.
Choose a spot from the list on the left with a large marked area. Bigger forests give you more room and more fungi to harvest. Then mark your coordinates and link a portal from the Overworld.
Warped stems and planks are fireproof, so they are safe to use near lava. Warped wart blocks and shroomlights add color and light. You can also plant warped fungus on warped nylium and grow it with bone meal. That way, you always have fresh wood and fungus close by.
One warning: ghasts and piglins can still drift or wander in from neighboring biomes. So keep your walls solid.
Warped forest version history
Warped forests arrived in Java 1.16 with the Nether Update. Warped wood, striders and the warped fungus on a stick were added in the same update.
